Tinea faciei

This is a fungal infection of the face. It resembles tinea corporis (ringworm). It presents as round scaly patches which are often clear in the middle. The borders can be raised. Diagnosis is by microscopy and culture. Treatment is with topical antifungals  or oral antifungals if that fails.
